Livable Housing

As registered livable housing assessors, we provide certification of Silver, Gold and Platinum Level Livable Housing developments. Certification can be provided at both the design stage (provisional certification) and on completion of construction through the issue of the LHA Quality Mark Logo.

Our services include assessments of development application documentation as well as site inspections during construction.

We are involved in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) which is an initiative by the NDIS to deliver accessible and effective housing for people with disabilities.

Specialist Disability Accomodation

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) refers to accommodation for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants who require specialist housing solutions to assist with the delivery of supports that cater for their functional impairment and/or support needs.

SDA refers only to specialist solutions and is not intended to encompass the housing needs of all people with disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will continue to work with other agencies and departments with housing responsibilities to deliver accessible and affordable housing options for people with disability, including the promotion of universal housing designs and shared-living models.

Some participants with particular needs require accommodation that enables them to receive the supports they need. The NDIS refers to this as Specialist Disability Accommodation. Participants who are assessed as needing SDA as part of their reasonable and necessary supports will receive funding to cover the costs of SDA.

Disability Access Audits

Our Access Audit service is an examination of a building and its facilities or services against specific criteria to assess its ease of use by people with a disability. Guidelines are from the Australian Standards AS1428 suite, National Construction Code and the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

Access Audits are designed to meet the legislative requirements of the DDA 1992 and improve access for all which will increase your customer base as well as meet your obligations under the Act. We can support you via our Access Audit service to provide feedback on what may be required for you to meet your obligations under the Act.

We deliver an Access Audit report which details non compliance issues and associated recommendations.
